About the author:

The author began to deal with artistic expression at a young age. At first it was an ink-on- paper technique. Soon he learned about graphic techniques and from the etching negative technique came the technique of engraving in aluminum.

Aluminum, unlike zinc, retains the silver appearance of the engraving. In the first years of creation, the author perfected his technique and artistic expression while studying at the Faculty of Architecture. He had several exhibitions and received a silver plaque from the city of Belgrade at the national art exhibition.

After finishing his studies (M.Sc.Arch.), he devoted himself to work in architecture and did not create works of art. However after completing his professional career in the construction field, he started creating artworks again in 2020 and made his best works of art presented in several galleries.

About the artwork:

It is a unique technique, although it is derived from the most famous graphic technique of etching. Indeed, it resembles a negative that becomes an original. Engraved silver lines and textures reflect light differently, so the appearance of these works of art depends on the direction, strength and quality of light.

The best result is given by light coming from the sides. The aesthetic effect of these art works is different, dynamic and never the same because it depends on the intensity and direction of light. This extravagant art technique combines glamour and serious, precise artistic language in a purified elemental aesthetic of the search for the essential in each case. Therefore the language of amorphous images can be interpreted with what is inside us: these works of art open our thoughts and explain the viewer’s relationship to the world, to the search for the final answer in the vast universe of blackness.

Due to the technique, the formats of the artworks are relatively small, their size is up to 50 x 50 cm. The amount of art works produced is also relatively modest. The author produced only a few dozen large-format works of art, which he kept, thus making this collection representative, unique and exclusive.
